The sticker comparison is lopsided: a conventional arch at $395 to $2,391 against an implant-supported one at $5,995 to $13,500, at the providers’ published figures. The lifetime comparison is less lopsided, because a conventional denture is remade on a cycle and the implants under a snap-on denture are meant to stay. This tool runs both over the horizon you pick. It cannot tell you which is right for your mouth; it shows what the published numbers do over time.
What each side counts
Conventional
The per-arch price of the tier you pick, paid once at the start and again every time the cycle comes round, for as many arches as you set. Published replacement prices are used where the chain publishes them, because after the first denture that is the price you pay.
Implant-supported
The published per-arch figure once at the start. The snap-on denture that clips to the implants is itself an acrylic denture that wears, so the tool can count its replacements at the conventional tier price on the same cycle, or leave them out. The implants themselves are not re-bought.
What neither side counts: relines (2 chains state the price is not published), repairs, the clips and housings a snap-on denture replaces, extractions before either route, and bone grafting some implant patients need. Those are real costs with no published figure, which is why the tool leaves them visibly out rather than guessing.
Where the replacement cycle comes from
There is no national rule for how often a denture is replaced. The closest thing to a published interval is what Medicaid programs will pay for: 15 state programs state one in their adult denture rule, and they range from 5 to 10 years. The cycle selector offers that span. Pick the shorter end if your dentist has told you to expect earlier replacement, the longer end if a denture has lasted you that long before.
