There are four kinds of denture and the choice between them is mostly made by two facts: whether any natural teeth stay in that arch, and whether the denture will rest on the gums or be anchored to implants. Budget then picks the tier. Answer three questions and the chooser names the type that usually comes up first, with its published price band and what to ask before agreeing to it.
The four types, at published prices
Complete (conventional)
Replaces every tooth in an arch, held by suction or adhesive. $395 to $2,391 per arch at published chain tiers, before extractions.
Partial
Replaces some teeth and clasps the ones you keep. $1,167 to $1,993 per arch at the one chain that publishes partial prices, cast metal to flexible.
Immediate
A complete denture fitted the day the teeth come out. The bill is the denture package plus the extractions, published at $105 to $109 per tooth with a package.
Implant-supported
Snap-on to two or more implants: $5,995 to $13,500 per arch at published figures. Fixed full-arch teeth on implants are a different bracket, $14,000 to $36,000.
What the chooser cannot see
Bone. An implant-supported denture needs enough jawbone to hold the implants, and years without teeth thin it; a partial needs anchor teeth healthy enough to carry clasps for years. Gum health, dry mouth, a strong gag reflex and how much you want to avoid adhesive all move the decision. That is why the result is the type usually discussed first, with the questions to ask, and not a recommendation.
