How the tools work
Each tool is a few lines of arithmetic on two kinds of number: figures providers and programs publish, which we read on a stated date and link to, and the numbers you type in. Nothing you enter leaves the page; there is no account, no storage and no request to any server. Without JavaScript the tool is blank and the page’s tables carry the same published figures.
A result is a starting point for a conversation with a dentist or your plan, never a quote and never advice. When a figure you need is not published anywhere, a tool says so rather than guessing. If a published figure has changed, tell us; every one is dated so you can check.
